Anthuspratensismeadowpipit. It is the most common pipit in open ground in Northern Europe. The underside is light beige or off-white, and the chest stripes are thick and distinct. The underside of the youngster is dirty yellowish. Like the tree pipit, its legs range from light brown to yellow or light pink. The back nail is longer. The demonstration flight starts from the ground. It nests mostly in treeless and non-agricultural open lands, tundra and dunes. It is found in flocks in wet meadows, freshwater edges, swamps and estuaries during winter and passage. Average length from beak tip to tail tip is 14.50 CM, average wingspan between open wing tips is 22 CM.
